City Parks
Miracle Park:
Miracle Park is near and dear to the hearts of many of our residents. Not only is it a beautiful park, but it is also a symbol of triumph and hope. After an EF-5 tornado destroyed the playground that once stood where Miracle Park exists, residents and volunteers from all over came together to build an amazing park. The park is located at 110 Colfax Street.
Located near the swimming pool, Miracle Park contains:
- Two separate play areas; one for younger children and one for older children
- Three shelter houses (click here to reserve a shelter house)
- A basketball court in the summer
- NEW! Pickleball is now available!
- An ice rink in the winter
- A sand volleyball court
- Plenty of green space for children to run
Pickleball:
Our brand new pickleball courts are free and open to the public! Pickleball is a great way to get exercise and is fun for the whole family. The pickleball courts are located on the north side of Miracle Park at 110 Colfax Street and shares a parking lot with the pool and Miracle Park.
Depot Park
Depot Park is a historical site on the north end of town. Parkersburg's old Train Station still stands, complete with an old-time caboose from a passenger train.
Schwartz Memorial Park:
Schwartz Park is located on the east side of Parkersburg on Newell Avenue. Donated by the Schwartz family, it provides a playground, gazebo for outdoor picnics, and a pond for fishing. There is also a walking path adjacent to the park that connects to Legend Trail Golf Course and the High School Baseball diamonds and football field.
All-Play Ball Park
All-Play Ball Park is located across the street from the Fire Station at 1005 Florence Street (under the water tower).
The non-profit organization, Diamonds and Fields, was founded in 2012 with the vision of creating the Cedar Valley’s first all-inclusive sports complex. A complex where youth of all abilities participate side-by-side as they develop and grow. Out of these efforts, the All-Play Ball Park was created.
The crown jewel of the All-Play Ball Park is the Miracle League field – an all-weather surface diamond that serves multiple purposes. It is now the home of the Miracle League of Cedar Valley. Affiliation with this national league provides children, young adults, and adults with disabilities throughout the Cedar Valley a place to participate in America’s greatest sport at a complex alongside all other athletes. The Miracle League (visit www.miracleleague.com to learn more) allows disabled athletes the opportunity to compete. The presence of this field also exposes “able-bodied” athletes to fellow disabled athletes at a very young age.
Contact Klay Hoppenworth at 319-240-2526 to set up your tournament or to make a donation to the All-Play Ball Park.
